Hi, I’m Elin Propst, a 12-year-old entrepreneur, and jewelry maker based in Rolesville, North Carolina. After growing up tinkering, creating, and experimenting with different craft projects and materials, I dreamed of owning a small business that showcased my creativity. Jewelry is where imagination and enterprise united for me, and I established Small Town, Big World in 2018. I find inspiration in mixed media jewelry, repurposing everyday items, showcasing unique beads, and using metal stamping tools to personalize each pair of earrings, bracelet, or necklace.

When I first got started, I made videos that showcased my jewelry on Instagram and TikTok, filming the process as I worked and packaged my pieces. Over time, interest grew through word of mouth, and I started making custom pieces for friends and family. While on vacation in the Outer Banks, I sold my first collection to a local gift shop, and that is when my business bloomed.

Today, you’ll find my pieces at pop-up events and shops in North Carolina, including The Gift Garden in Nags Head.I appreciate each and every one of my customers as I continue to grow and spread my wings as a middle school maker.

When I’m not searching for the perfect beads for my next design or creating art in my craft room, you’ll find me finishing my homework, taking voice lessons, and spending time with friends.
